WINEMAKERS COMMENTS

Ripe red berry fruit notes with citrus overtones on the nose and palate with hints of watermelon. A firm natural fruit acidity offsets the fruit ripeness making a wine in perfect balance and lengthy firm finish. A lip-smacking Rosé that is perfect for an aperitif or paired with food.

VINTAGE

2O23 was a textbook vintage for Marlborough. Clear blue-sky days with sporadic clouds and cool nights. Hawkes Bay had its challenges but fortunately, when Cyclone Gabrielle hit, the Syrah was still unripe which protected the fruit and allowed them to withstand the rain and continue to ripen until ready for harvest.

“A deep salmon and orange hued appearance leads to a a ripe and bold bouquet of red apple and roses, some nectarine skin and red melon, a light honeysuckle quality and fine lees complexity. Satin smooth textures touch the palate first, some contrasting acidity with a light mineral quality. A dry wine with some weight and core fruit flavours that mirror the bouquet. Balanced, well made and ready with best drinking from 2024 through end of summer 2027”
