The creation of Obliix
Created by Fistonich Family Vineyards, Obliix represents the first wines that Sir George Fistonich produced under his new company. Born as a one-off small-batch experiment to try something a little different, the brand’s popularity grew, and now the range includes a diverse collection of wines. The transformation from grape to fine wine, an alchemical art, unfolds at our Fistonich Family Vineyards winery in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

The name Obliix
Now, let’s delve into the story behind the name Obliix. Derived from the word ‘oblique,’ it embodies the concept of veering away from the predictable path. But why the double ‘ii’ in Obliix, you may wonder? Well, it was our way of highlighting that there’s more than one way to approach things. The intriguing pattern on the label symbolizes the notion of not simply following the well-trodden path, whether it’s in the vineyard, the winery, or life in general. It serves as a visual reminder of our commitment to continue exploring new routes for quality enhancement.
“Obliix labels pulse like a Bridget Riley painting, with a 3D wave pattern that creates an optical illusion... it’s about unique and distinctive journeys... the idea of moving away from the predictable path.”
